DANCING THROUGH LIFE 2026

Totally overwhelmed by all the messages about this years show! Every year we get bigger and somehow we still manage it! So proud of every child and adult that got on that stage this weekend.

As you all know I struggled organising this year, I thought my first year organising without pregnant or baby would be easier, but toddlers/preschoolers are no easier apparently…

A big thankyou to my family, my husband who’s often not seen but always the childcare behind the scenes, my mum, dad, sister, brother in law, aunty and cousins who all helped all weekend, I couldn’t do it without them! And Carrie who every year is a Hudson for show weekend! 😂

Chaperones, you were incredible, some mega quick changes and everyone made it! Love that some chaperones now write notes in rehearsals 😂

The palace crew, thankyou, you are outstanding and I couldn’t imagine our shows anywhere else. We have such limited rehearsal time and you just do it! Even when I gave different versions of the running order out by mistake we did it and have managed to be the speediest dance school on turnover time in dances, pretty proud of that one!

My big girls, I really couldn’t allow little ones the opportunity to take part without them all, only teenagers themselves and are so lovely with the younger ones, so proud of you all!

A big thankyou to Miss Rachel, who’s helped wherever asked this year, you’re a star.

Parents, thankyou all for being part of our school, your children are all a pleasure to teach and I think we have the best community of family’s! One day they will realise how much they have to thank you for, giving them such opportunities.

Dancers - from my littlest 3 year old, to adults at 83, you all gave it your best these last 2 days. So many smiles, and so much fun and that is what it’s all about! Keep dancing, keep working hard, I see your progress every year and it’s so special to watch!

So for now what was your favourite dances and costumes?! I’m off to plan next years… (and wash some costumes!)
